ABOUT THE DOCTOR Dr. Cohen, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin completed his undergraduate and masters degrees at the California State University in Northridge. He received his medical degree in 1978. He completed his internship at Jersey City Medical Center and went on to complete a residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center/University of Wisconsin in 1983. Following his residency, Dr. Cohen participated in a group practice for three years prior to establishing his private practice in Morgan Hill, California in 1986. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Cohen is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Professionally well respected, he has served many years as the secretary/treasurer of the Peninsula Gynecologic Society. The doctor has served on the Physician Advisory Board for a major health maintenance organization, as well as being the chairman of the physician peer review and credentialing for another. Dr. Cohen has also served for a number of years on the Board of Directors of the San Jose Stage Company. Community service activities include serving as a Volunteer in Prevention for the California Department of Forestry as well as a Volunteer in Policing for the Gilroy Police Department. Dr. Cohen has been a member of Rotary since 1987 and is a Paul Harris Fellow. A sponsor of "Doc's Percherons", Dr. Cohen drives a team of Draft Horses in local parades and events, providing wagon, carriage, sleigh, and hay rides to the community's children and adults. Dr. Cohen attends numerous professional seminars and advance technology courses staying current with the latest developments in obstetrics and gynecology. He is on the speakers bureau for a major pharmaceutical company. The doctor presents educational seminars to not only other medical professionals, but also provides a community lecture series on women's health issues. His wife, Regina Cohen, holds a M.A. degree in learning disabilities and works as a special education resource specialist. |
