Obstetrics is an art and science.  Our offices are able to blend the needs of the individual with the science of medicine.  Dr. Cohen shares the desire to provide for the individuality that our patients desire. We both believe in allowing for a warm birthing experience.

Our office provides complete obstetric care.  Dr. Cohen accepts high risk patients including those with diabetes, prior pregnancy induced hypertension, renal, thyroid, asthma, and other medical complications of pregnancy.  We liberally use the resources of perinatal specialists, who bring an entire team of expertise to those patients requiring intervention.

Our office provides for emergency operative obstetrics if and when necessary. This may include vacuum or forceps delivery if the patient and family agree, or caesarian section.

Vaginal breech delivery, vaginal birth after caesarian (VBAC) and caesarian delivery all carry both risks and benefits. Our hope is to provide the patient with the information so that any decision is made with a full understanding of the options. We have the experience to assist you in your decision.

Post partum tubal sterilization is available to those requesting it. Many times this can be safely performed immediately following delivery.

Epidural Anesthesia for those who desire this option is offered by the anesthesia service that provides 24 hour availability. At Good Samaritan Hospital, these highly trained specialists are always on duty in the hospital. Likewise this availability of in hospital 24 hour anesthesia services provides for safety in the event of any surgical emergency.

Neonatal intensive care is also immediately available at Good Samaritan Hospital in the event the newborn unexpectedly requires assistance. Again the hospital provides for a 24 hour in house newborn intensive care physician.
